Like many of our customers, the owners of this mid-century modern ranch in Albany discovered Bennett through the recommendation of their friends. “We didn’t even consider using any other contractors, our friends spoke so highly of Bennett. We were so pleased working with George Griffin (project manager), Justina Lee Auer (designer) and John Lapishka (lead carpenter).”
Since buying the house in 2004, this retired couple had always dreamed of a more functional and modern kitchen. The old kitchen was laid out poorly, was dated and didn’t quite fit into the style of the rest of the home. The homeowners worked closely with Justina to design a much more functional and inviting kitchen.
The bamboo cabinets were accented with black walnut butcher block island top, and the wood finishes added a sense of warmth that the kitchen lacked prior. The matte finish Cambria quartz countertop is clean and cool, complimented with a simple white subway tile backsplash. The black and white checkerboard flooring contrasted with the cabinets and fit right into the mid-century modern style.
The couple splurged with a built-in countertop range and a brushed nickel pot filler, which they found surprisingly useful!
We tied together the adjacent mudroom with matching cabinets and turned a large broom closet into a nook for an espresso machine and storing cookbooks.
Lastly, the lighting fixtures tied everything together and matched the fixtures in the dining room and living room. Great work to our team and we can’t wait for your next remodeling challenge!
