These are crazy times. This morning we learned that major construction trade groups have received clarification from NYS that all construction is considered essential and we are not required to shut down our operations. What does this mean for Bennett? We will try to safely continue operating. Your project manager will contact you to find out if you are available and want to work. You are NOT obligated to return to work.
All hourly employees are still entitled to the additional 40 hours sick leave. You can use it now, or if you choose to return to work, you can use it anytime in 2020.
Our criteria for continuing work on a project are:
– The gov’t hasn’t shut down our business
– The homeowner hasn’t shut down our project
– Anyone working on the jobsite must be healthy, not potentially exposed and WILLING to continue work
– Homeowners & family at jobsite must be healthy and not potentially exposed If you choose to return to work, you MUST comply with CDC guidelines (link below).
Our office interior will continue to be locked, call Mike or Bryan ahead if you need anything. The paperwork bin will still be located in the garage or you can use the front mailbox.
If you believe you may have been exposed to the virus or show any symptoms or signs of illness, you MUST stay home.
This situation evolves every single day. Stay tuned for any new updates. Don’t hesitate to call Andrew, Kevin, or Mike with any questions.
Be safe,
Andrew and Kevin Gutman
